Gratitude

Updated: Sep 5, 2021

Gratitude means being thankful and appreciative towards God, others, yourself, and being grateful in life in general.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body, you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

- Colossians 3:15-17

"Gratitude is a powerful emotion to use for manifesting because normally, we feel gratitude after we receive something. So the emotional signature of gratitude means it has already happened. When you are thankful, or you feel appreciation, you are in the ultimate state to receive. When you embrace gratitude, your body as the unconscious mind will begin to believe it is in that future reality in the present moment."

- Joe Dispenza

There is positivity in having a grateful heart. There is joy, peace, appreciation, and incredible love for Abba and others. You're able to deal with things, such as adversities. Gratitude builds a healthy heart, and you produce more positive emotions and positive vibes. Allow yourself to be thankful for past failures in order to grow, be grateful for the present, and be optimistic for the future that you will have great success in Jesus' name. Showing gratitude draws others to you, it shows a characteristic of the Father, and it draws others to Christ based on the characteristic you show.

In this life, we all must learn to show gratitude and be grateful for all life situations, good and bad. Things are not going to all ways go as plan or the way we envision them. I learned that the hard way. I used to walk around feeling defeated and frustrated because things didn't go as planned, friends failed me, the marriage didn't work out, funds were low, and so on. I didn't see the blessing at the moment. Practicing being grateful helps individuals focus on what they have instead of what they don't have and the things they've lost. I've learned that each situation catapulted me into the woman I am today. Learn to thank Abba for the good and the bad, for every storm and every sunshine. Doing this helps boost your emotions to be more positive, feeling better about yourself, increasing your faith in trusting God that all things will work for the good of those that love the Lord, that's according to the word of God. Gratitude springs forth once we realize the goodness of God, how much He has given us, what He will provide, and understand that we did little to obtain it.

Always remember to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting in believing in His promises. Know that in being grateful and showing gratitude, you can understand the greatness of God. Stand firmly on Gods' word, keep the faith, have courage, be thankful, and show gratitude in all things.

Reflect: Have you been looking at life with a grateful heart, or have you looked at life through a foggy lens that you only see failures? What are some things that caused you to see life negatively or on a positive level? Have you shown gratitude to others and yourself? How can you practice being more grateful and showing gratitude? If you see the negative, find the positive, you got this! Being to practice gratefulness and thankfulness each day to help build a better you, unapologetically
