Reset

Reset means to set again, but differently.

"But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen,

settle [you]."

- 1 Peter 5:10

"Every person needs to take one day away. A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future. Jobs, family, employers, and friends can exist one day without any one of us, and if our egos permit us to confess, they could exist eternally in our absence. Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted and no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us."

- Maya Angelou

All of us go through things in our lives. We all have highs and lows. With those experiences, we can get emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually overwhelm. Life can get you down, and this is why we should do a reset or reboot. Refocusing your version of yourself should be done every once and a while. Focus on the things you want to do with your life, places you want to visit, or the people you want to meet. Bring those to the forefront of your mind and do things for you.

Sometimes we get a little sidetrack with the cares of life. This doesn't only happen to you; it happens to everyone. We all get a little sidetrack, get tired, boredom sets in, and get burned out. We put others and things before ourselves. In this, you have to reset your selves and take back your life. Take time out for yourself!

As we live, there is going to be some pain and suffering. Things are going to happen, but don't let them stop you from being you! By the grace of God, we are saved. In Him, you should trust to carry you all the way. To lean on, depend on, cry out to, to seek as you rise in the morning, and as take your rest through the night. Start your day each day with a reset. Whether it's having a cup of coffee, journaling, meditating or sitting before God, which is highly recommended. A reset is needed and necessary.

Whatever comes your way, know that you will be okay. God's got you. Trust in His Word, and believe in yourself. Remember in all that you do, that there is only one you, so be unapologetically you!

Reflect: As the cares in life arise, how will you reset your mind and the way you respond to yourself?
